Readers are Leaders
Today I was working on my Spanish homework in my room when my host mom came in asking me a favor. She asked if I would read to her. I was so excited, but it was very overwhelming! I sat on the couch and started reading a legit Spanish novel. Every few words I needed a correction, but I got through. I noticed improvement with every page, and that made me happy. Our washer broke today, and after my clothes were done washing the water would not drain out. Entonces, I had to take my clothes and wring out the water. That was an effort in itself! I have my clothes hanging outside right now, but apparently it will rain in the middle of the night tonight, meaning I need to bring them in. I don't know why, but I love the act of hanging my clothes out to dry. The only thing I am not a fan of is that my clothes SMELL like outside when I bring them back in. Alright, this week is all about challenging myself to speak more Spanish. I have a list of goals for myself, and I am very excited to carry them out! Everyone at UIW have an incredible first day of school tomorrow! I heard the new student gathering went well, and I am excited to hear all about every one's day tomorrow!!
